The Association of Bonded Travel Organisers Trust Limited (ABTOT) provides financial protection under The Package Travel and Linked Travel Arrangements Regulations 2018 for The Tartan Road Limited, ABTOT member number 5450, and in the event of their insolvency, protection is provided for the following:
- non-flight packages and
- flight inclusive packages that commence outside of the EEA, which are sold to customers outside of the EEA.
ABTOT cover provides for a refund in the event you have not yet travelled or repatriation if you are abroad. Please note that bookings made outside the EEA are only protected by ABTOT when purchased directly with The Tartan Road Limited.

Wherever feasible*, we visit properties, try out activities and experiences ourselves and meet and speak with the owners and managers before we include them in itineraries, so you can be sure that your bespoke Tartan Road itinerary consists of the very best places to stay, the most comfortable and convenient ways to get around and the most exciting and interesting activities and experiences available for your budget in the area you're visiting. And of course, we know that you'll have the best people on hand to help you enjoy them to the full.
*Due to COVID-19, on occasion we have been unable to enter certain properties or areas due to the public health restrictions in place at the time of our planned visit. The safety and health of our team comes first, and we will resume visits as soon as it is sensible to do so.
Things can change. We understand - our booking conditions are designed with flexibility in mind.
We require a small up-front deposit of £150 per person to secure your booking. The full balance of your trip cost is not due until 6 weeks before you depart.
If, for reasons relating to the ongoing pandemic, you find that you need to postpone your trip within six weeks of your departure date, please get in touch as soon as you can and we'll still do our very best to help you.
