Inspired by such beautiful surroundings, it's easy to see why creativity might flow particularly easily on the islands of Islay and Jura. Take your time to drop in on the crafty islanders on your visit and admire the fruits of their labour.
For us, highlights includePersabus Pottery, run by Rosemary Fletcher at Port Askaig, handspun wool and knitwear at Tormisdale Croft, Port Charlotte, the Islay Woollen Mill at Bridgend and Outback Art Gallery at Sanaigmore.
Independent shops bringing together a range of locally produced arts, crafts and souvenirs include the Blue Letterbox at Port Ellen and The Celtic House at Bowmore.
On Jura, most of the island's shops can be found at Craighouse, where we highly recommend that you visit talented photographer Konrad Borkowski and Camella Crafts.
