Edinburgh
The king of Scottish Christmas markets, Edinburgh has endless lines of street food stalls, grotto bars, fairground rides and craft producers. The market takes place in Princes Street Gardens, George Street and along the Royal Mile.
As well as the main Christmas market, there is also the separate Out of the Blue Christmas Art Market.
Glasgow
Glasgow has two separate Christmas markets - the St Enoch market specialises in food, from German bratwurst to locally-sourced crispy duck, a traditional hog roast and cakes and mulled ciders to warm your bones.
Over in George Square, traders from around the world can help with your Christmas shopping.
There's also the Doggy Christmas Market, with treats and accessories for that special canine in your life (The Tartan Road's very own office dog, River, insisted we mention this...).
Aberdeen
Aberdeen's Christmas Village boasts an open-air ice rink with the beautiful backdrop of Marischal College, a selection of local craft stalls and attractions to keep all the family entertained, and plenty of festive food and drink.
Perth
Perth's International Christmas Market plays host to a festive feast featuring a fully-edible map of Perth & Kinross, the annual Great Perthshire Soup Competition and the traditional Bakers' Parade.
Inverness
Inverness' Eden Christmas Craft and Food Fair is split across two weekends with over 100 producers taking over Eden hall to show off their wares. This is one of the few that takes place indoors - so you don't need to worry about the changeable Scottish winter weather.
